wherewolf @ 06:56 am: happy new year, everyone!

lately i've been listening to lots of elliott smith, modest mouse, and the arcade fire. i'm sure everyone's heard of the arcade fire by now. but if you are one of the few that haven't, "funeral" is simply amazing!

be_my_chicago @ 01:01 am: Everybody check out The Concretes, they are a beautiful band from Sweden. I think the NME described them as "Gossamer pop", which was pretty accurate for them, as the NME indeed sucks.

maquis_n_spades @ 07:07 pm: I've been a member for a while, but this is my first post. I was really glad to find a community who's musical taste was a little more diverse than others that i've seen. That's why i joined.

A few of my favorite bands are:

a.c. newman
destroyer (highly, highly recommend)
the shins
neutral milk hotel
broken social scene
iron and wine
elliott smith
built to spill
belle & sebastian

i'm open to new stuff

thelastlastone_ @ 10:51 pm: I joined this community a little while ago under the name demi_coeur. I'm not gonna reintroduce my favorite bands because I'm pretty sure my other post is like 2 under this one...

I missed a couple shows, I guess. The Weakerthans, Rilo Kiley, Metric and Sondre Lerche. Bummer, man. I need to pay more attention to when bands come around here. I really want to see the Shins, but I have no idea when they'll come around the Boston area. Maybe I will look that up soon... I'm also interested in picking up good music-related books at the library, fiction or non, but I haven't a clue where to start. So if anyone has a suggestion I will take it. And if not, that's cool too. Bye.
